Might I suggest that you consider a bolster that will accommodate 1" track also?

At your price I would never make another one from scratch -> if it handled 4-3/4" track.

getting too old to balance on a 3/4" railset (giggle).

I'm not in the market, but if you are using a flat rate USPS box the rate is the same to Alaska and Hawaii as it is within the Lower 48 states. If you are using UPS the rate is decidedly higher.

Hi Bill, You could easily make the bolster with a piece of steel. Thanks for the idea.

Yes on the steel bolsters..and I would STILL be ahead of the game by $$ and time...but then I would have more 'left over' castings in the milk carton that I have been collecting for 40 years to add to what Jim Stuart collected for 50 years -> I am being over-run with 'left overs'

Would you consider selling parts (frames and wheels)???

that way you can collect the bolsters and only have cast what you need (after the fact).

Bill...seriously? What would you do if you were in Jim's position here? It's amazing to me that an engineer...you can't come up with a solution to the gauge issue..... This is a great price for the product.

since I have converted to 1", the solution is that I will $$$ trucks from Jim and make bolsters and be happy..but then I am in a position to make most anything so I am not bothered.

If I were Jim, I would look at what bolsters for 1" would cost and consider offering them.

it is all about selling what people want....and I am finding a few more 1" tracks out there then 3/4" (plus I wanted to build a new loco and 1" is a size that I don't have)

HEY BILL!

If you really wanted to support Jim A. you would buy the casting set as offered and alter the bolster, add stock to each end. Done. The wheel diameters aren`t even close to 1".         These truck are side equalized, as you can see no springs. These patterns are copies of Bill Van brocklin`s Andrews trucks.
