How did we go from talking about a moes pump to hydrostatic testing ???

Seems like the rear tube sheet shot forward, carrying the tubes and flues with it?

Why would the rear tube sheet go forward during a failure?

perhaps better than going to the rear (from an engineer's standpoint)….

This has migrated to what it is...perhaps to support the concept of 'you can never have too many ways to put water in a boiler'.....
Too many things going on to bother listing them.

It's super heater tubes blown out of the boiler after a failure at the firebox end. Locomotive was C&O 2-10-4 3020. 1948 near Chillicothe OH I believe.

Regarding a comment about VanBrocklin's pumps, most had the external rods operating the valve with cross drilled ports to run the opposite cylinder. Bill did also make duplex pumps with the overhead shuttle valves and no external gear.
