PVLS 1973 or 4, short movie

Post by Sandiapaul »

Hi,

Here is a short video my dad took at PVLS in 1973 or 4.
Harold Crouch and his Niagara is at 10 sec. Bruce Blackman of Ohio and the Lake Shore Live Steamers is at 1:50. Bruce had brought is B&O 2-8-0.
I can't identify any others, I'm sure someone else here can. I have a couple other movies I will upload soon.

The first three engines and people were Lewis Bullock and his Atlantic. Harold with the Niagara, and Sparky with the girl who is the granddaughter of Hild, the builder of the engine. She is the one who sold Rob the engine several years back at PVLS.

In the second film, the guy on the high line with the CNJ 0-4-0 tank engine is Mike Field from Canada I believe. The Hild Pacific shows up again along with George Dimonds CNR Mountain. Those were good days back then is seems.

good crowd of people and steam engines, unlike today. I wonder who that is running Dimonds Mountain on the highline. Is that Brad Harrison running the New Haven I-4 or George Litzen or George Dimond ? I don`t see any propane fired engines, as Ross Grant would have finished his Articulated by 1973. So it might be earlier. Who are the fellows shooting the breeze in the steaming bays ? could be ? Wayne Stone running Crescent Pacific 1 1/2". Diesels were not in command @ this time.

Les Fowler, Brentwood Barnfather, or Bob Satler.

It is probably 1972. We went a few years in a row starting in 1972.
