That's a great repair job, really impressive.
I would have never thought you'd be able to measure the length of old wire as you did; that must have taken some time.

And it works! That's the best part.

Amazing, but not surprising!

I had little doubt that you would succeed.

Harold, that reminds me of a "Light control" project of quite a few years ago. :-)

Thanks for the support. It's really rewarding when one tackles a job that is difficult and manages to achieve the goal. Most of us do that routinely, though. We're a different breed than the run-of-the-mill guys.

I suspect any of the readers could have achieved the same success, which is more because of our natural curiosity and ability than anything. That's why we gather here---we share those qualities.

Everyone brings something to the table. Your contributions may be different from mine, but of no less value.

I take the "Ignorance is bliss" approach. If I dont know something is or should be difficult (or impossible) then I try it anyways and keep trying until it works! It usually does the trick too.

Great work Harold!

Harold, you knew it would be extremely difficult, you persevered and you succeeded! Very fine work, photos and write-up. You've inspired me!
