That's a great repair job, really impressive.
I would have never thought you'd be able to measure the length of old wire as you did; that must have taken some time.
And it works! That's the best part.

Thanks for the support. It's really rewarding when one tackles a job that is difficult and manages to achieve the goal. Most of us do that routinely, though. We're a different breed than the run-of-the-mill guys.
I suspect any of the readers could have achieved the same success, which is more because of our natural curiosity and ability than anything. That's why we gather here---we share those qualities.

I take the "Ignorance is bliss" approach. If I dont know something is or should be difficult (or impossible) then I try it anyways and keep trying until it works! It usually does the trick too.
