Wire EDM part needed

Post by FLtenwheeler »

Hi All

I would like to have a teardrop throttle plate cut. I am looking for someone that can do it with a wire EDM machine.

Thanks

Tim

Contact Dave Queener on this board. He is from Knoxville and has that capability.

Hi Bill

Here is a quick drawing. I have it in Solidworks so I can provide the files that you need.

Last time I contacted Dave his EDM machine was not working.

Dave did my main axle boxes for the locomotive.

Giggle...I no longer have wire service available...I was just asking because anyone that has a wire machine is going to want to see a drawing beforehand.

What's the radius at the tip of the teardrop?

The small radius is 1/64” and the large is 1/8”.

so it is doable with 0.008 wire which is what many wire machines use as their 'bread and butter'.
