both a lathe, got some unusual stuff

Post by hydrogen18 »

I bought a harbor freight lathe 7 x 10 secondhand. HF part number is 93212 . Lathe seems to work OK esp considering the price Didn't come with everything but it was cheap and I ordered a 5/16 lathe key & some 1/4 inch lathe tools I can use to try and learn to turn some stuff.

The lathe should come with a second pair of jaws for the chuck from what I can tell. There were about a dozen lathe chuck jaws in the box of stuff I got given, including one set that must be for a 8 inch chuck or something. Is there a way I can tell what set is the correct one for the chuck?

I got a bunch of other stuff as well. I think some sort of large tool holders & maybe an MT3 to MT2 reducer. Is any of this stuff possibly useful for this lathe? I don't know what the little blocks are either. If not I am thinking maybe I just sell this stuff.

Chuck jaws are typically match marked with the same set number, then indexed 1,2,3.

Look for a set that is physically the same size as what is already in the chuck.

The second from the top looks like it is a back end of the spindle spider to center small bar stock and keep it from whipping.
Too many things going on to bother listing them.

looked at the jaws yesterday. They are indeed numbered. None of them even remotely fit. So I guess I have a dozen paperweights
