1.5" scale snifters

Post by Andypullen »

Good morning All!

I have finished another lot of snifters. The photo shows 3/8"-24 threads. I also have 1/8"NPT. $70 a pair. $10 shipping for as many pairs that you may need in the US. International shipping is more, but I'll send as many as you need.

PM me here. I take Paypal, Zelle, checks and money orders.

Thank you for looking!

Any chance we could see some straight snifters instead of 90 degree elbows? I have a pair of these I got from you a year or so ago. They are very nice, but the angle just didn't work on my mogul the way I was hoping they would.

Good afternoon Tank,

The “90 degree” snifters are designed to screw into the front of a slide valve steam chest.

I have some “straight” ones designed to mount on the top of a piston valve cylinder next to the branch pipe connection. I’ll see if I can find a picture or 2. If enough people want some, I can do a run.

Thanks!

Andy

Here’s a photo:

The one on the left is copied from the ones on Strasburg #90. They aren’t exact copies. 1/8”NPT.

The one on the right is a Baldwin snifter. I found the drawing in a Locomotive Cyclopedia and scaled it down. The thread is 1/16” NPT. I can make up another base easily enough. 1/8”Npt or 3/8”-24?

I’d prefer to make more than 2. Anyone else interested?
