Bosch AB 33 magneto

Post by Geochurchi »

Good morning, anyone know anything about a Bosch AB33 magneto? I have taken it all apart, installed a new cap cleaned completely as it was submerged in saltwater, now only get a weak spark when using an inline spark plug tester, any thoughts?
Thanks

If you took it apart and didn't have a keeper for the magnets they will probably have to be zapped. Failing winding insulation and bad condenser are also indicative of a weak spark.

Is there a means of adding more magnets on top of the existing? I did use keepers when I removed the magnets, aside from a weak spark how can I tell if the magnets are strong enough?
Thanks

As an experiment could I use 2 fishing magnets 1 on each side to see if I get a good spark, if so I would get the original magnets recharged.
Just a thought.
