new issue Model Engine Builder out yet?

Post by J Tiers »

Heard it was to be mailed, maybe last week.

I re-upped my sub, got their receipt, and have heard no more since.

I got notice of mailing last week. Unless you have a problem with your subscription, I think you'll see a copy by the first of next week, J.

Hmmm.....

I am pretty sure I re-subscribed, but I can't find a receipt in teh email.

I emailed Mike, and he says he sent out the magazine notice of sending last Sat, but has not caught up with all teh receipts yet. From what he wrote, I assume the sub went thru, but now I'll have to check CC receipts

I didn't get anything Sat.............

Very unlike my usual routine, I used a credit card to renew my subscription. Mike must be very busy, for it took him quite some time to send a receipt.

I think I should take this opportunity to say that his publication is outstanding and worth every dime he charges. His attitude towards the reader is very good---as if he wants each person to receive the value we hope to receive. I recommend the magazine highly to anyone with an interest in model engines.

No, I don't have stock in his company. I'm just impressed with his efforts.

Yes, I 100% agree with that assessment.

I just was checking up mostly because I didn't want to have forgotten or let the sub fall thru the cracks...

Had that happen once with G.E.M., and it was a couple months before I realized it. So I lost half a dozen issues or so.

J, I thought you might be interested in the latest information, which I received yesterday (4-12-06):

Issue 5 of Model Engine Builder magazine was mailed last Thursday
(April 6th) to our subscribers. For some of you, this is a second e-
mail but, unfortunately, due to an error in my e-mail address, a lot
of ISPs dumped the original e-mail to protect you from spam and we
didn't receive a bounce-back because the e-mail address was wrong.

US readers should expect your copies in 10 to 12 'post office' days.
International Air Mail customer's copies should be in-country on
Monday and in your local postal system for delivery. We know by
experience, even with the best of postal intentions it can take as
long as 35 days for your copy to arrive. Anyone other than
International surface delivery customers who do not receive their
issue within the 35 day period, please contact us so we can send you
another copy. International surface delivery customers should receive
their copies a bit sooner than normal as your copies were sent via
expedited transfer between countries.

In keeping with our objective to make the magazine more interesting,
we've expanded even further into workshop articles plus we finish out
Phil Finney's large Hit & Miss engine and have another one of those
RICE engines from Ron Cairns. Robert Washburn starts on a series of
articles about George Trimble and the Beginner's Corner has some good
advice. I think you'll like this issue..

As always, thank each and every one of you for subscribing. Tell a
friend. This is the critical year for the magazine and we must see it
grow further in order to continue into 2007.

CONTRIBUTIONS:
We need more contributions. We are starting to include workshop
articles in the magazine which only increases the need for your
contribution. Even a 'one-liner' tip has significant value to our
readers. And many thanks to those of you who have already
contributed.

Best regards,

Mike Rehmus

P.S. I regret to inform you that Hamilton Upshur, a contributor to
this magazine and others, passed away late last month. He will be
missed by the model engineering community and especially by those of
us who considered him a friend. Model Engine Builder is lucky to have
published one of his engines in 2005 and we will be able to publish
another this year.

Well, here it is the 21st, and nothing yet. Sounds like the usual 3 week mailing time.

It took 6 weeks for tomato seeds to get to me USPS from Florida to MO, so I guess that isn't too bad yet.

My issue was delivered late last week, maybe Thursday. It's very nice, as usual.

You sure your subscription was entered?

If not, we have a problem, since they charged the card some months ago, AND Mike seems to think I am a subscriber.....

I am estimating that it could get here possibly any time up to the end of next week, after that I'll worry, I guess.

I got mine on the 20th. We're not all that far from Vallejo, so I'm guessing that folks in the eastern half of the country will have to wait a couple more days.
