Whatever you want to call is, mine is stripped!.... The Acme threaded screw that drives it by the handwheel is fine, but the female threads in the ram are shot....
If you have one, or know where I can get one, please let me know....
Good idea, I don't know where to get a bronze nut, but probably easier to find than a quill.... I have some Loctite 638 bearing mount here, that should work!....
Won't sell to Canada, but I have a friend in the US that could get it and send it to me.... Many thanks.... Is there any advantage to bronze over steel?....
It's usually a good idea to avoid running steel on steel, which tends to lead to galling. If you can't find the appropriate nut made of bronze, don't hesitate to buy one made of gray iron (or even better, ductile iron) if possible. Iron on steel is a very acceptable bearing.

Wise people talk because they have something to say. Fools talk because they have to say something.
I have found a acme 1/2"-10 LH nut in brass with flange, and the body is 3/4" OD, which I can fit into the quill.... The body is 3/4" long, and the flange is 1/4", but I would turn that off to end up with a 1" long nut.... My question is if brass is strong enough?....
The company want a ridiculous price to send to Canada, $53 for a $5 part by UPS !.... I may see if I can get an American friend to get it and mail it to me....
