***UPDATE*** I have been in contact with Dan Tack of Precision Railroad Products and Total E Toys and he had pointed me in the right direction and was extremely helpful. He is getting me what I need to fix my issue and stands by his product. Pretty amazing for a system that was installed in 2008. Thanks Dan!
This may be a long shot but I figured I would ask. I purchased a Morris Switcher that was repowered with a 24v battery system. The system is from a company called TOTALETOYS.com. There are a couple of issues and I am hoping to get a wiring diagram. Of course, TOTALETOYS is no longer in business and I cannot find anything on line.
Also, the locomotive has a sound system but the sound board has no identifying marks on it. It seems to work ok but when you start the system up it "revs up to Notch 8" instantly and doesn't idle and slowly notch up with the increase of power to the motor like it is supposed to. Clearly some wires aren't in the right place but without knowing what card it is and obtaining a wiring diagram for it and the DC motor system I'm kind of in the dark.
The motor was also wired backwards. As in, when you put it in FORWARD it would move in reverse and when you put it in Reverse it would move forward. While looking at the wiring it was clear that it has been wired backwards at the motor so I swapped the wires and it would move in forward in forward and reverse in reverse but...each time you put power to the motor, the sound system would shut off. It does not do that when the motor is wired backwards. I'm hoping one of the electrical experts here can help.
I have attached some pictures for reference. Hopefully someone has used this system before and can supply diagrams or schematics so I know what is supposed to go where. Or at least some advise on where to begin.
Thanks,
Greg

Re: Loco Electrical/Sound Issues
It looks like an older Phoenix sound card. The Big sound 2K2 model. It is on the Phoenix sound website under products.
Re: Loco Electrical/Sound Issues
TotalEtoys was a distributor of Phoenix sound systems. That is what you have.

Re: Loco Electrical/Sound Issues
Thats a big help. Thank you! Anyone have the wiring diagram for the TotalEtoys 24v motor system? Or perhaps a contact person/number?
Re: Loco Electrical/Sound Issues
Try looking up the patent number on the motor controller. You might glean something useful from it.

Re: Loco Electrical/Sound Issues
As to your sound issue with changing the motor wiring. There may be a current detecting coil that one of the motor leads pass through. Try turning that donut around (swap faces) after your wired for the correct direction.
