A corollary to that is "Better to be silent and thought of as a fool than to open your mouth and dispel all doubt."Cabbagestack wrote: ↑Sat Nov 24, 2018 2:17 amGood point! My father tried to tell me that when I was young and it took me a little while to catch on. Lol!

The late great George H.W. Bush can be a guiding light for all of us. He has set a good example. We didn't appreciate him when he was with us, but it's still not too late. I especially like his "kind and gentler" statement.

Re: Language on the forum
Being "kind and gentle" doesn't work with snakes. They ridiculed H. W. Bush the whole time he was president. Compared him and mocked him as "church lady" . It is only when a Republican leader is dead that reverence is shown and that is towards another agenda.
Re: Language on the forum
I had leave quickly without ability to delete. Agony after posting this. Snakes are within the two parties George H.W.Bush was a great man.

Re: Language on the forum
Bush I was reviled and considered comparable to Hitler until he 1) lost his second election, 2) endorsed gay marriage, and 3) died. McCain was a hero to the left until he ran for President (because he was not loyal to his party), and then he, too, became comparable to Hitler. Then he lost and died, and he was a hero again.
Many, many of the people who praised Bush I after he died were filthy to him and his family while he was alive. Their praise is somewhat ridiculous.
I think leftists still hate Bob Dole. They will warm up to him after he dies, though.

I agree yet perhaps we take this particular discussion to a different place. Okay, I was baited and you were baited by me. It is over for here. I'm on thin ice already and wish you don't follow. Different sites for different expressions and don't foul this up.
