Re: Test Photo, 261

I can't tell you the exact time, but I do know something about a few guys that slipped back to the Skytop for that ride up the hill......... That spot is pretty close to me, but the earlier jaunt up the Short Line Hill(on the C.P. Merriam Park Sub) took us right through my neighborhood. 261 was real...

See if I'm close.
St. Paul, MN 07/04/04. BNSF Midway Sub.
Looks like the photo was taken between Mississippi St., and Phalen Blvd. The last trip of the Grand Excursion, heading back to the shop after an excellent 2 weeks of trips.

Re: A Chinese couple in a German-American colony

The trip was Friday,September 15 2006. Rock Island to Iowa City and Homestead. I almost couldn't believe how many people were waiting out there for the train to be turned. It was a beautiful day. They all are when steam locomotives are involved though. Thanks for posting the link to the video. Havin...

Re: Tool Cars

After looking the photo carefully, I noticed a clue to this person's identity. He had something in his hands, but it is not: 1-A can of JOLT. 2-A grease gun of any kind. So by deduction, it could not be Mark D. Maybe somebody new to the crew, but being next to me I should be able to remember them. M...

Re: End of the year, but it was a great season...

Thanks for the welcome, Mark. I figured I might take time to be a little bit social online. I know what you mean about the time thing. I think the whole crew is trying to play a little catch-up after the busy summer. Hi Fitz, It was very nice meeting you as well. Can you believe it's been over 2 yea...

Great story, Mark. I was kind of figuring you'd have something here today. I gotta check for your commentary in case I might have missed something.
Kind of short, though taking into acccount all the trips the 261 had this year. You must have more installments coming. I'll watch for them.
