Does anyone out there have any ideas on where to go for Q&A on these type of trains?

Re: grand scale steam train
Vicki, could you be more specific about the Grand Scale steam trains? Are you looking for small scale live steamers, or something like the Orient Express that you could ride over a long distance? Welcome to Chaski. In the US today, there are no grand scale steamers on regular schedules. Some excursions become available from time to time. The Union Pacific runs steam trains but seldom sells tickets to passengers on them.

What I have is a 1/4 scale,15 gauge train that you can ride on .

Re: grand scale steam train
Vicki, I believe that qualifies for the category of "Live Steam." There are members of this discussion forum who work with live steam and certainly can answer about any question you may have.
Also, feel free to post your questions about live steam on the "General Discussion" section where it will get more views, thus more attention. After all, it is railroad related.

The "Grand Scale Railway Forum" in Yahoo Groups is the best place to catch all the grandscale; fans, builders, etc.. all in the same location.
